Jodhaa Akbar

Over the last week around 6 people asked me if I had watched “Jodhaa Akbar” and said the same thing to all of them, “no!” So the parents and I went to go watch it last night. We watched the freaking 9:45pm show which proved to be a HUGE mistake cause it bloody well ended at 1:30am. On top of that, the father was like “Oh it won’t be that crowded, it’s ok if we leave the house at 9” and the mother and I were like “No, it’s a new movie we should leave at 8:30.” Yeah so we left at 8:45 and got seats on row D, the fourth row from the front. It stank, we had to lie down to be able to watch it and it gave the father a headache, which was totally his fault!

As for the movie, every one was right it was bloody fantastic. I pretty much spent my time starting at Hrithik Roshan’s eyes… They are gorgeous, it’s like you could see the world in them! I know how corny that sounds but seriously – they’re hazel and green and a bit of blue. Back to the movie, it’s a historic movie about an emperor Jalaluddin, who was Muslim, and his wife Jodhaa, a Hindu. It’s about politics, love and all that jazz, even has the evil mother who doesn’t like the new bride and does evil deeds to kick her out. There was a Hijra (a man who believes his soul is female) who was absolutely hilarious. Plus, I love Indian audiences. They clapped at the end of the movie and kept whistling when they were having "sex". As for the movie, it made us laugh at the most inappropriate times. For example, there is a part where a man is sent to death and the emperor says (there are on the second floor) “drop him down head first”, so they do and then he asks “is he dead yet?” and the guards said “no sir, he’s still breathing.” So the emperor says “go get him and throw him down again” which wasn’t meant to be funny but in the theatre everyone was fucking laughing. There was a lot of dark humour present in it. The songs we're gorgeous, inspired by Islamic music, defo.

Ok have dress rehearsal later and then the actually fucking concert for orchestra. Playing Pirates of the Caribbean which is cooooool…

Laters!
